As a media psychotherapist, Brett Kahr has served as the Chair of the Professional and Public Relations Committee of The United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy, and more recently as the Special Media Adviser to The United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy. He has been BBC Radio 2's Resident Psychotherapist for their year-long Life2Live mental health campaign.

Brett has been on many radio and TV programmes since 1984 as a psychological commentator and presenter, and has consulted to many more as a Psychotherapy and Psychology Adviser.

Brett appeared on the BBC four-part factual series Making Slough Happy, produced by Optomen Television as one of the six experts working to improve the happiness of Slough residents.

His TV documentary about Britain's sexual fantasies has been transmitted several times in the UK on five and on The Discovery Channel.
